Home Grown Social: The New Social Media Perth a “game changer”
Social Media Perth (#SMPerth), the city’s largest community for the social media minded, will today relaunch at the network’s final, free event of the year at Fraser’s Restaurant, Kings Park.
The move will consolidate the network’s organic growth into educational resources, and simultaneously supercharge this arm of the business, seeing #SMPerth become the “go-to, online destination for all things digital in WA”, according to leading Social Media Strategist, Meg Coffey.
In almost four years, #SMPerth has not just found a foothold in the market, but generated a rapidly expanding following of local professionals drawn to its unique brand of networking, training, online resources.
According to Ms Coffey, #SMPerth’s success speaks to the market’s appetite and need for “home grown” social media support and education.
“Networking clubs aren’t a new concept. Where Social Media Perth has been special from the very beginning, is that it has grown in a way that has always been responsive to its membership community.
“As a result, we’ve created something that is uniquely Western Australian; that puts digital and social media in a useful and accessible context for us here in Perth, today.
“While in recent years we have incrementally altered Social Media Perth’s offering, it was only logical to make more deliberate inroads to grow the brand as a resource, and deliver education, training and resources at scale.”
This is where the new, game changing Social Media Perth website comes into play.
Developed by Bang Digital, the new site is best equipped to accommodate Ms Coffey’s vision and will launch complete with a wealth of free, original and local content.
“The new site will be home to an unrivalled catalogue of regularly updated, free, locally authored and curated content that is tailored to our WA business community. There are also plans to add subscription-only, specialist content to the mix.
“Think the latest stats, infographics, reviews, media releases, blogs, editorial and academic research. Everything you need, in the one place,” said Ms Coffey.
Bang Digital, Managing Director, Renae Lunjevich said, “We have watched Social Media Perth grow over the past three plus years into the digital hub it is today and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of it.
“The foundations of the #SMPerth website were strong, but it was clear to us that it didn’t represent or showcase what the network has grown into.
“The new logo moves the brand forward and the modern design positions #SMPerth as a thought leader in the digital space, not only locally but nationally and internationally.
“We are thrilled with the results and can’t wait to share the fruits of our labour with the #SMPerth Community.”
Ms Coffey added, “It’s the next chapter in the story for Social Media Perth.
“With the new website in place, #SMPerth will undoubtedly be one of the leading online social media resources in the country. There’s an awful lot to look forward to in 2017! Watch this space,” said Ms Coffey.
